I can just imagine this walk in a month or two with the trees leafed out, creating a canope of green overhead. The small lake on either side of the road is now covered with a thick and solid chunk of ice. Just think what spring will bring!
This is the first meetinghouse built and owned by the LDS church in Ukraine. It is about seventeen years old. Sunday services are no longer held here, but it is a center for CES functions, youth dances and missionary training. The mission office occupies part of this building.
They tell us that spring is on the way. Often by the time we walk back to our apartment the snow has begun to melt. We have to watch where we step because the ice is morphing in spots and sometimes a thin crust on top breaks through to soft slush beneath.
It is amazing to me that the tall buildings you can see up ahead are now what we call home. It is even more amazing as we wait at a light to cross the street, then start up the narrow lane that weaves in, out, around and between, then leads to our front door.
Here it is. This is home. The black door in the building to the right is our front door. Count up nine stories and you can probably see our sitting room window. The world looks pretty good from nine stories up.
Still, isn't it great that we can get out and walk!
Great adventure, we love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI sat here showing the pictures and telling Jared about them. He liked the car and seeing Nana in the snow. Also the big big building where you live.
