Back home, today is Mother's Day. Thinking about the joy and blessing of being a Mother, I am filled with gratitude and wonder. I am grateful that I was influenced by the love and service of a special Mother. I am grateful for those things I learned from her which prepared me to accept and rejoice in the opportunity to love and care for children of my own. I am grateful for the beautiful, selfless loving woman who raised a great priesthood man to help support, teach and counsel our children.
I am grateful for the blessing of six beautiful daughters who grew up in our home to become, each one, a kind, loving, caring and nurturing mother. I feel doubly blessed that our two sons were directed to places and paths where they were able to find and win the special mothers of their own children.
Today is Mother's Day. Today I am filled with gratitude for all of these sweet and special mothers!
thank you. I love you. we love you.
ReplyDeleteHereunto were ye called : because Christ also suffered for us, that ye should follow his steps. * * * 1 Peter 2:21
I watch the movie and that came to mind, "that ye should follow in her steps"
I feel sobered, solemn, reflective, ... and it is remarkable to think I will be looking at mothers, my mothers, our mothers, the way you are looking now.
Today I have been reflecting on the small and simple things that bring to pass a great work. I am helping the kids pack for Catalina so I'll not share them all with you now, but I'm thinking of all the small things ... educational activities, walks, trips to the park, singing songs, home pre-school, family home evenings, work charts, letters, phone calls. Thank you for dedicating your life to us.
